Legislative Building of Nunavut

Canada's newest territory, Nunavut, officially came into being April 1, 1999, with a celebration at the new Legislative Building.

Novita's contribution to this unique building was the lighting design for the legislative chamber. Achieving the correct lighting for broadcast purposes was critical - as the seat of government for the territory, the room has hosted prime ministers, Queen Elizabeth, and in February 2010, the meeting of the G7 finance ministers.

A particular challenge on this project was the short summer season for construction, and the fact that all materials were brought to the site by ship. Because of the tight timelines, planning and coordination was extremely important.
